Hands. Movement. Breath.

Boulder-based physical therapist using hands-on care, movement, and breathwork to help people out of pain and back into themselves.

I’m a physical therapist with 18 years of experience helping people out of pain and back into the lives they want to be living. My approach is hands-on, unhurried, and grounded in how the nervous system and body actually work together, which is often different from how most PT works.

A Boulder native and CU grad, I left for Boston to complete my doctorate in physical therapy. Along the way I met my amazing wife, found exceptional mentors, completed a fellowship in manual therapy representing the highest level of hands-on clinical training in the field, spent years teaching other clinicians what I’d learned, and made my way back home. What all of that gave me, more than anything, was a finer sense of listening. To how a body holds tension. To what it needs in order to let go. To the difference between a problem that needs to be worked on and one that needs to be worked with.

Most people come to me because something hurts and they want it to stop. That’s exactly the right reason to reach out. What they often find is that the work goes a little deeper than they expected, and that turns out to be exactly what they needed.

Who I Work Best With

I work well with people who are thoughtful about their health, have usually tried a few things already, and are looking for an approach that treats them as a whole person rather than a collection of parts.

People who want to understand what’s happening in their body, not just be told what to do.

People who feel that there may not be a quick fix, but there must be a better way forward.

If that sounds like you, I’d love to hear your story.
